"If you want to make a change in the world, as development economists you're best suited to do so," were the opening words of the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Prof. Dr. Maik Dierkes. During the conference, 100 presentations from participants based in Germany or abroad were held. Tavneet Suri (MIT Sloan School of Management) and Sandra Sequeira (London School of Economics) gave inspiring keynote speeches. The prize for applied development research was awarded by the German development bank KfW. The prizes went to Dr. Manuela Katharina Fritz from the University of Passau (1st), Dr. Tobias Korn from Leibniz Universität Hannover (2nd) and to Dr. Paulina Hauser from the University of Erfurt (3rd). The annual conference was organized by Prof. Dr. Martin Gassebner and his team at the Institute of Macroeconomics.
